Thirty Years with Mr. P.R. Nelson
"The only time you really live fully is from thirty to sixty. The young are slaves to dreams; the old servants of regrets. Only the middle-aged have all their five senses in the keeping of their wits." -Harvey Allen
I am overwhelmingly fortunate to begin the next 30 years in such an energetic fashion.
With that said, spending an evening 11 rows from Prince. PRICELESS. Felt like I was celebrating each year of my life during this concert. Welcome to America was a full celebration of his earlier work, and as always, the best damn party in town. Unfortunately for me, no good quality camera shots, but thanks to the dozens that blasted these photo's all over the internet:

Sheila E!
Due to a cancellation, we still landed at the best show of the tour so far. With a sexy rendition of Little Red Corvette, a ballet performance to Beautiful Ones, SHEILA E., and three encore's ending with If I Was Your Girlfriend(damn skippy)/Insatiable (my word!)/Scandalous (ow!)/Adore (my favorite!!)
So after a week full of festivities including an evening with the NY Scooter Club and Lucky Cheng's fabulous ladies of the East Village, Thousands of Santas bar-frolicking around NYC, Surprise Guest Birthday Party, Nick DiPaolo calling me a lesbian... there is no better way to end a week of birthday celebrations than with a big ole party in the Meadowlands... (thanks lexi-pooh!)

Harmony
Today's I-Ching reading, which I always admired for encouraging introspection and meditation.
"The trigram earth is above that of heaven, and heaven seems to be on earth. The gravity of matter merges with the upward radiation of light to merge in deep harmony. This juxtaposition denotes a time of peace and blessings for all living things. In the affairs of humans, tranquility comes when the good, strong and powerful show favor to those of lower status, and those of more modes means are well disposed towards those who are currently blessed. This condition marks an end to feuding. In such a state, it is best to let the energy ride high. The way is cleared, and the prospects for great success are outstanding.
Chaotic forces still abide in nature, but man, by carefully responding to the rhythms and cycles of the world around him, can find peace in the natural world. By planting the right crop in the right place in the right season, the farmer brings harmony to the cultivation of plants, and prosperity to his family. Similarly, any business must adjust to the natural cycles of the season; only through flexibility and adaptation can order and growth be maintained. Peaceful times produce a time of flowering and prosperity; the wise person channels positive energy to all quarters, to each in proper proportion, just as a farmer waters his field. But be vigilant. Otherwise, peaceful conditions will foster the growth of weeds as well as flowers."

Sagittarian Packing/Unpacking
I've moved quite a bit over the last ten years, so why packing and unpacking is still a mystery to me is because I was born under the sign of Sagittarius. I am convinced that all Sagittarius are born with at least a mild case of ADD, as we are painted as impatient, fanatical, argumentative and hotheaded, indulgent, uncommitted, fears any responsibility that curtails freedom and fails to plan adequately.
So this time I tried a bit harder to beat out my severe ADD, and I think that packing was easy this time. Of course I took a lot of breaks in between and had to concentrate my mind on one room at a time (at one point i fell asleep on the floor with my head on my puppy Piruli's bed) however, now I am faced with a greater challenge. I am alone, in a big house, with each room filled with items waiting to be released from their cardboard prisons. I tried the same approach; pick a room, stay there, Alaina, stay.... stay, DON'T SIT DOWN! Wait! you were almost done with the kitchen! aaand now shes in the bedroom. Ugh.... Now there are many half unpacked boxes.
Today, with two more boxes to go, I might just finish the kitchen! Even without running to the car to escape the mountains of cardboard for an hour, hiding in Barnes & Noble! Although I like frequent change of scenery, I do wish I had more patience and time management skills to tackle this in a faster rate, because one half of me is impatient and wants it done, and the other half shuts down when overwhelmed. This is not good behavior for a nomad as myself (family tradition! lol). I think I'm just going to sit down for a while at the computer...

Sagittarian A.D.D. Alert
It has come to my attention that there is an overwhelming correlation between being a Sagittarius and being diagnosed with A.D.D., Attention Deficit Disorder. Due to being a diagnosed Sag with A.D.D, I have seen some interesting similarities between what the doctors say about those with A.D.D. and what astrologers say about us Sagittarians.
Now here are the positive and negative aspects of the Sag Personality according to the stars:
So are all Sagittarians doomed to take Ritalin or Adderal their whole life just for being born at the end of the year? Is there some correlation between christmas lights or pine sap exposure to newborns and A.D.D.? Where's that scientific study? Wait, what were we just talking about again?
Does your Sag have any of these symptoms?

Positive characteristics of adults with ADD / ADHD
The symptoms of ADD / ADHD are not all negative. People with ADD / ADHD also have many positive traits that are directly tied to their active, impulsive minds:
- Creativity – People with ADD excel at thinking outside of the box, brainstorming, and finding creative solutions to problems. Because of their flexible way of thinking about things, they tend to be more open-minded, independent, and ready to improvise.
- Enthusiasm and spontaneity – People with ADD are free spirits with lively minds—qualities that makes for good company and engrossing conversation. Their enthusiasm and spontaneous approach to life can be infectious.
- A quick mind - People with ADD have the ability to think on their feet, quickly absorb new information (as long as it’s interesting), and multitask with ease. Their rapid-fire minds thrive on stimulation. They adapt well to change and are great in a crisis.
- High energy level – People with ADD have loads of energy. When their attention is captured by something that interests them, they can have virtually unlimited stamina and drive.
